New Orleans Nightmare!

Howard's affiliate, WEZB FM (B97), changed it's format to Adult Top 40 (CHR) and dropped Howard's show from mornings effective Friday (6/7). Even though Howard's show was number one in the male 18-35 demographic, the station decided to go after middle-age woman instead.

There is still about 6 months left on Howard's contract and so it looks like the station will have to cough up a quarter of a million dollars to buy out the remainder of the contract. If not, they may find themselves in court, much like Evergreen Media did over their cancellation of Howard's show in Chicago a few years back.

Speculation is that Howard's show will be picked up very soon since it had winning numbers with men. Infinity doesn't own a station here (can you believe that!), so don't look to them to put Howard on. By year's end, there was still no New Orleans Affiliate carrying the Stern show.
